RE: APC’S LAI MOHAMMED SHOULD STOP LYING
It
is not as though we are unaware of the barrage of innuendoes, white
lies and sarcastic verbiage employed by Mr. Lai Mohammed, the National
Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his futile
attempt to criminalise our organization, the Transformation
Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN).
As a Non-Governmental Organization committed to mobilizing and galvanizing grassroots participation in governance, we’ve held back sufficiently from joining issues with an unprincipled but loquacious spokesperson of an opposition political party.
As a Non-Governmental Organization committed to mobilizing and galvanizing grassroots participation in governance, we’ve held back sufficiently from joining issues with an unprincipled but loquacious spokesperson of an opposition political party.
But
a lie told repeatedly without challenge is bound to assume the toga of
some mischievous “truth”. First, TAN unabashedly dissociates itself
from the “Bring Back Jonathan 2015 hash-tag” which indubitably detracts
from the Bring Back Our Girls hash-tag as an offensive problematic to
the universal campaign to release the Chibok girls abducted by the boko
Haram terrorist group some months ago.
TAN
has repeatedly told Nigerians and the public at large that it is not a
political party but a civil society organization with a self-imposed
mandate of showcasing the unparalleled achievements of President
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. It remains to be disputed that since the past
six months, we have dominated the public advocacy space with candour and
lucidity of delivery, to the envy and consternation of Lai Mohammed and
the APC’s front organizations, and all manner of interlopers.
Because
of our single-minded determination to deconstruct APC’s false
narratives about the capacity and competence of President Jonathan in
the execution of his national transformation Agenda, we took in our
stride APC’s warped vision on national sovereignty given its hand in
glove connivance with and endorsement of the demonization of the
Nigerian state by a section of western imperial media.
In
the same way, that the Chinese, the Europeans, the Russians, and even
the South Africans will stoutly defend their national integrity as proud
people and stand as principled agents against the theatre of
falsehoodconsistently scripted from the polis and slavishly regurgitated
by their local errand boys.TAN is a proud and patriotic Nigerian
institution constructed to defend not only the legacy of President
Goodluck Jonathan, but the integrity of the Nigerian state. In this
political war that the APC through Lai Mohammed has levied on TAN and
all that we stand for and which we gleefully accept to fight, TAN’s only
regret is the abandonment of its avowed philosophy of non-recognition
of entities outside its principled mandate- a philosophic bent of will
that has seen TAN adopt only positive programming in the strategic
trajectory of our public advocacy agenda devoid of bitterness, rancour,
hate or criticism of other National institutions.
While
affirming that the sustained tirade of Lai Mohammed and APC will not
distract us from the sublime threshold we operate from, in the defence
of the Nigeria possibility, we will challenge, resist and oppose the
venoms of hate and insensate self-opinionated arrogance from the band of
the Nigerian pseudo-democrats. We will scrutinise the progressive
credentials of those who mouth progressive slogans and phrases and place
on public record the truth beneath a carefully constructed but
decidedly insipient public persona.
In
our earlier release, TAN did stress that the journey it hasembarked
upon is a journey of national discovery, of celebrating the best that
Nigeria is and can even become and summoning the patriotic zeal and mass
enthusiasm of our people in confronting the dark forces in our midst,
under the watch of President Goodluck Jonathan. TAN does not in any way
declaim the existence of National challenges but will continually
celebrate our moments of National triumph and accomplishments we will
equally deploy all the resources, skills and tools available to us in
stating down the narcissistic self-idolatry we find within the ranks of
the APC but most noticeably, that define the mind set of Lai Mohammed.
TAN
has accepted the APC challenge and just like the late political sage,
Zik said in 1978 while declaring his interest to participate in the
democratic process of that era “…I have rolled up my sleeves to do
battle with the dark demons of political despair and angst, to chase
from ring post to ring post the nincompoops and scallywags that pervade
the Nation’s political space and pummel to submission the noisy rascals
that torment him day in, day out”, TAN will defend the person
and office President Goodluck Jonathan. We will celebrate the Nigerian
state and will never tire in showcasing our landmark achievements as
members of a proud black race. TAN will never allow Nigerian to be
guided by the delusive effusions of foreign agents, who value more the
tantrums of some western media propagandists than the daily struggle of
Nigerians in Oshogbo, Aba, Abeokuta and Kano.
