In spite of challenges ahead of the 2015 general elections, Senate President Senator David Mark has said a free, fair and credible election is all that is needed to safeguard and sustain democracy in Nigeria.
Mark said this when he addressed delegates to Saturday’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives’ primary election in his Otukpo, Benue state base, adding that Nigerians have come to the inescapable conclusion that democracy is the way to go.

He expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the election and urged his people to sustain such good conduct in the forthcoming elections, in a release issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh.

According to Mark, “I always want to lead by example. You can see from the conduct of my people here that my constituency is most peaceful. You cannot find us quarreling or creating an atmosphere of disaffection because we do things in a dignified manner.

“We believe in justice, equity and fair play. Above all, we allow the will of God and the people to prevail. For us, the people are the kings and we act in tandem with their wishes and aspirations”.
Mark was of the view that should all political actors follow the law and the wishes of the electorate, there would be less rancour and acrimony in the polity.

The incumbent Otukpo /OHIMINI of Benue state representative in the National Assembly, Hon. Eziekiel Adaji won the PDP primary election announced by the chairman of the electoral panel Sam Tyoure.
